Kalemegdan- The Kalemegdan fortress has a very long annals, going back not less than to the castru of Roman times; decimated some times by successive swell of invaders, was rebuilt as a palace by the Byzantines in the 12th century. Under the Serb Despot Stefan Lazarevic, child of the monarch Lazar, Belgrade became the capital of the Serbian kingdom; the fortress was reinforced, and the Despot’s castle was constructed inside the vintage castle. A medieval village increased up inside the partitions of the smaller outpost (a form is on brandish on one of the top terraces). (more…)

The Republic of Serbia is located in southeastern Europe. It shares borders with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. It straddles the Danube river boat that provides communication between the interior of Europe and Black Sea. It has no coastline.
In Serbia you can find many landscapes , from Vojvodina, with its grassy plains, past the old south mountain areas where the Morava River and flows to areas with basins and limestone in the east. (more…)
