Serbia were part of former Yugoslavia until 2006 and was a two-state corporation comprising four political units: two republics, each with its own capital (Serbia-Montenegro-Belgrade and Podgorica) and two subordinate provinces (Vojvodina and Kosovo).

The Republic of Serbia is located in southeastern Europe. It shares borders with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
